Elements

February 23rd, 2019

As mentioned before, I haven't produced something in a while. Today it's exactly eight years since my last video. Time for an anniversary celebration!? But since my current projects are nowhere near finished, here are some segments of a project I worked on around 2009/2010, but never finished:

It is called Elements and was supposed to be a four-part series:
Fire, Water, Wind and Earth, if I remember correctly.
It was hugely inspired by my favourite anime-music-video - the fast-cut-editing, seizure-inducing beast:
Alternate Dimensions

If you have an account at amv/org, download the high quality version there .
Otherwise, you can watch it on YouTube instead. (in 480p only)

Seriously - if you don't well up even a little bit while watching this beauty with volume up, I won't like you anymore.

Anyway, Elements was a lot of work and I just hadn't had the time and at some point cut the losses and let it be. So what I'm showing you today are some small parts that actually reached a more or less presentable stage.
Enjoy, if you can :)

Synesthesiated's not dead (anymore)

February 1st, 2019

Hey there and welcome back!

I haven't posted or done anything for almost eight years now.
Eight years!!!
But that extended hiatus is over now. I'm working on some 3D Rendering and Animation stuff. It's gonna be great :)

Right now there are three projects in the pipeline:

  • Project One will be a highly stylized, fully animated and 3D rendered music video to a glorious synthwave song (if I can get the artist's permission). I'm hoping to finish this around March/April.
  • Project Two will be another music video. The style will be a kind of two-and-a-half-D, meaning it will be rendered in 3D, but flattened down to 2D - roughly the way I did the background image of this site. I haven't chosen a song or genre yet and therefore have no idea what this project will be about, though I have a possible artist in mind. We'll see. Nevertheless I'm aiming for a June 8th release, since it would be a nice way to celebrate 10 years of this blog.
  • Project Three will be yet another music video, since this is what I do, hence the name of this blog. Again synthwave, also fully animated, but I'm going "photorealistic" with this one. I'm aiming for an end-of-the-year release.

Uh, and as you can see, I moved this blog away from out-of-the-box wordpress and just did all coding by myself. Now it's shiny. Though the design-composition doesn't necessarily make a lot of sense :)

Ok, that's it for now - gotta go.
Bye!

Great Movies - a Compilation

February 23rd, 2011

Some time ago, NeoNemesis1 (a guy I'm not acquainted with, who just happens to make awesome movie-compilations) made two movie compilations which are just stunningly awesome, regarding the created atmosphere as well as the list of movies he included.

I watched them a lot of times, but missed some movies. Therefore I made an unofficial sequel to his vids, which you can find below.

I have to admit that I didn't get the dense atmosphere he created, but maybe people will like my video, too.

Enjoy!

#1 Some of the best movies ever made - Compilation
#2 Some of the best movies ever made - Compilation
Both videos are made by NeoNemesis1 . [now using the name: Beneos]

My unofficial sequel:

Dexter in the Air Tonight

November 13th, 2010

Have you ever noticed how the lyrics of Phil Collins' In the Air Tonight fit to Dexter? Well, here you are.
Attention though: Contains major spoilers from seasons 1+2 !!

Sorry, for the unsmooth edges. I don’t know where this is coming from. The first version I uploaded was way smoother, but had some frame-mistakes.

A little sweet nothing for you:

Unfortunately, I forgot to deactivate auto-brightness, so you actually can't really see the day become brighter :)
